Nicolaus Copernicus was a smart guy from a long time ago (about 500 years ago!) who looked up at the sky and said:
“Hey, I don’t think the Sun goes around the Earth...
I think the Earth goes around the Sun! 🌞🌍”
Everyone back then believed the Earth was in the center of everything. But Copernicus said:
“Nope! The Sun is in the center, and the planets (like Earth, Mars, and Jupiter) all go around it.”
This idea is called the heliocentric model (helios means "sun" in Greek).
Because back then, people thought Earth was the most special thing in space. What Copernicus said was a HUGE change! At first, many people didn’t believe him. Some even got upset!
But later, scientists like Galileo and Kepler proved he was right. And now, we all learn that in school! 🌞➡️🌍🌕
The Sun is at the center of our solar system.
Earth is a planet, just like the others.
Science means asking questions—even when others disagree!
